Shower Repair and Installation in Hull
Shower not working properly? Losing pressure? Or are you looking to upgrade to a better shower? HJZ Plumbing repairs and installs showers across Hull and East Yorkshire. Whether it’s fixing a leaking shower valve or fitting a brand new walk-in enclosure, Henry has been doing this for 39 years and will get it right.
Shower Problems We Fix
- Low shower pressure that’s gone from a powerful spray to a trickle. Can be caused by a failing pump, blocked showerhead, or a problem with the hot water supply.
- Shower not heating up or fluctuating between hot and cold. Usually a thermostatic cartridge issue or a problem with the electric shower element.
- Leaking shower from the valve, hose, head, or tray. Even small leaks can cause hidden damage to the floor and walls behind the shower.
- Electric shower cutting out mid-use, which often means the element is failing or there’s a water pressure problem.
- Mixer shower problems where the temperature won’t stay constant or the diverter valve is stuck.
- Shower tray leaking from underneath, usually caused by a failed seal or waste connection.

Common Questions
My electric shower has gone weak. What’s wrong?
Most likely the heating element is starting to fail, or limescale has built up inside the unit. If the shower is over 5 years old and the flow has gradually reduced, it’s usually more cost-effective to replace it than repair it. A new electric shower starts from around £100 for the unit plus fitting.
Can you fit a shower where there isn’t one?
Yes. We can run new hot and cold supply pipes and a waste connection to install a shower in a room that doesn’t currently have one. This is common for en-suite conversions or adding a shower over a bath.
